19TH AND EARLY 20TH CENTURY PAINTINGS OF MAINE AND MOUNT DESERT ISLAND

Charles Edwin Kinkead 20th Century There is little known about Charles Kinkead.  He lived for part of his life in New Haven, CT and was a member of the Salmagundi Club.   He and artists Scott White and Harold Warren formed the group known as TIPS (Three Island Painters) who painted and lived on Islesford, also called Little Cranberry Island, during the summer.  They regularly exhibited their paintings at the Blue Duck on Islesford early in the 20th century.
